1【学校简介】School Profile
九江职业技术学院是经教育部批准成立的全日制普通高等学校，其前身九江船舶工业学校创建于1960年，先后隶属于原第一机械工业部、第三机械工业部、第六机械工业部、中国船舶工业总公司。1994年经原国家教委批准举办高等职业教育，是全国首批举办高等职业教育的10所学校之一。1999年，学校由国防科工委划转江西省人民政府管理，是省教育厅直属高职院校。2010年6月，学校“国家示范性高等职业院校建设项目”顺利通过教育部、财政部验收，成为我省唯一一所国家示范性高等职业院校。2011年5月，学校被教育部授予“全国毕业生就业典型经验高校”。2014年4月，学校和南昌航空大学联合培养应用技术型本科人才，揭开了应用型本科人才培养的新篇章。
Jiujiang Vocational and Technical College (JVTC), which was founded in 1960 with a name of Jiujiang Shipbuilding Polytechnic School, is a full-time public college approved by China's Ministry of Education. The college was attached successively to the No. 1 Mechanical Industrial Ministry, No. 3 Mechanical Industrial Ministry, No. 6 Mechanical Industrial Ministry and China State Shipbuilding Corporation. In 1994, the former National Education Committee approved the school of the qualification in higher vocational education, making it one of the first 10 higher vocational colleges in China. In l999, the college was taken over by Jiangxi provincial government from theState Commission of Science and Technology for National Defense Industry, and was put under the direct governing of Jiangxi Provincial Department of Education. In June 2010, the college’s "National Model Higher Vocational Colleges Construction Program" gained acceptance from the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Finance, making the college to be the only one that was awarded the title of National Model Higher Vocational College in Jiangxi province. In May 2011,the college was awarded the title of National Typical Experienced College of Graduates Employment by the Ministry of Education.In April 2014, JVTC established cooperation with Nanchang Hangkong University in cultivating applied skill-based undergraduates, opening a new chapter in the history of training applied technical talents.
学校占地面积1200亩，设有9个二级学院和3个教学部，现有全日制在校生18000余人，拥有专任教师645名。学校建有1个工业工程中心和1个工程训练中心，实验实训室192个。学校秉承“质量立校，特色兴校”的办学理念，以教学为中心，以内涵建设为重点，以专业建设为龙头，不断深化教育教学改革取得了丰硕的成果，近年来，荣获高等教育及职业教育国家级教学成果二等奖3项、国家精品课程3门国家精品开放课4门、省级教学成果奖16项、全国机械行业职业教育教学成果奖16项、省级人才培养模式创新实验区4个、省级精品课程31门、省级精品资源共享课21门。学校已与中国船舶两大集团公司等200余家单位合作建立了稳定的校外实习实训基地和就业基地。
JVTC covers an area of 1200 Chinese acres, additionally consists of 9 schools and 3 departments with a total enrolment of more than 18000 students and a faculty of 645 teachers. The college has constructed 1 industrial engineering center, 1 engineering training center, and 192 basic laboratories. Bearing in mind “Quality first, Characteristics foremost”, the college has been persistent with the principle “Existence in quality, development in characteristics”. Emphasizing on quality, focusing on teaching and specialty construction, the college is deepening education and teaching reform continuously and fruitfully. In recent years, JVTC has won 3 state-level second prizes in higher education and vocational education teaching achievements, 3 national fine curriculums, 4 national fine open courses, 16 prizes of province-level teaching achievements, 16 prizes in vocational education for national mechanical industry, 4 province-level innovative experimental areas for talent training patterns, 31 provincial fine curriculums, and 21 provincial fine resource-sharing curriculums. A lot of out-campus cooperative training bases and employment bases have been set up with over 200 businesses including the two corporations of China Shipbuilding.

2【师资队伍】Teaching Staff
学校拥有专任教师645名，其中具有高级专业技术职务人员207人，具有博士、硕士学位人员292人，国家级教学团队2个、省级教学团队4个，享受国务院特殊津贴、全国职业教育先进个人、省“百千万”人才工程第一二层次人选、赣鄱英才555工程、国家技能人才培育突出贡献奖获得者、省政府特殊津贴获得者、省高校中青年学科带头人、省高校中青年骨干教师和江西省高校名师等39人，省劳模、“五一劳动奖章”获得者、省首席技师、省技术能手、市拔尖人才等48名，初步建立了一支师德高尚、素质优良、业务精湛、结构合理的高水平师资队伍。
JVTC has a total faculty of 645, among which there are 207 members with senior or associate professional and technical titles, 292 members with Ph. D and master degrees, 2 state-level teaching teams, and 4 province-level teaching teams. There are some other 87 specialists and talents, such as the ones who enjoy the special allowance from the State Council or Jiangxi provincial government, national advanced individuals for vocational education, members of first two levels of the National Hundred-Thousand -Ten Thousand Talents Project, GanPo Talent 555 Project, winners of the Outstanding Contribution Award for National Technicians Training, province-level middle-aged academic leaders, province-level backbone teachers and Jiangxi Provincial Best Teachers, province-level model workers, provincial May the First Labor Medalists, province-level chief technical experts, province-level skill master, and city-level distinguished talents. In general, JVTC owns a high-level, well-structured staff with excellence, proficiency, responsibility, and professionalism.

3【人才培养】Talent Training
学校以把学生培养成为德才兼备、各有所长的高素质人才为目标，积极探索“工学结合，学做一体”的人才培养方式，构建了“大学生素质教育体系”。学生在全国及省级各类大赛中摘金夺银，捷报频传。毕业生广受社会欢迎，学校多年就业率超过90%，被评为“全国毕业生就业典型经验高校”、“全国职业院校就业竞争力示范校”，连续九年被评为江西省毕业生就业工作先进集体。
Aiming at cultivating students into high quality talents with both political integrity and professional competence, JVTC earnestly explores the talent development mode characterized with “work-integrated study”, and sets up a “quality education system for college students”. A lot of students have won various kinds of prizes in state-level or province-level competitions. With an employment rate of over 90% for many years, the graduates have always been enjoying a positive fame in the talent market, and JVTC is entitled the “National Typical Experienced College of Graduates Employment”, the “National Model Vocational College for Graduates’ Competence” and has been awarded the title of “Advanced Unit of Graduates Employment in Jiangxi Province” for nine successive years.

4【专业建设】Specialty Construction
学校开设应用技术型本科专业2个、高职专业61个，其中7个国家级重点专业，8个国防军工特有专业，7个江西省高校特色专业，8个江西省高职高专示范专业，5个全国机械行业特色及创新专业，形成了以工科为主，以船舶工程、先进制造、电子信息为主要特色，兼有经济、管理等多门类协调发展的专业体系。
JVTC has 2 four-year applied undergraduate education majors and 61 three-year higher vocational education majors among which there are 7 state-level key majors, 8 featured majors for national defense and military industry, 7 Jiangxi provincial featured majors for higher vocational education, 8 Jiangxi provincial model majors for higher vocational education, 5 national featured and innovative majors for mechanical industry. A comprehensive major system mainly emphasizing on engineering has been constructed, and it is featured in marine engineering, advanced manufacturing and electronic information, and perfected by majors such as economics, management, etc.

The college has always been taking efforts to enhance the campus environmental quality and create a good educational environment by planning campus architectures and improving landscapes and conducting lighting projects. Now in the campus, lined trees and multicolored flowers make a pleasant beautiful scenery, modern buildings and natural scenery combine perfectly and add charming atmosphere to each other, creating an ideal place for students and staff to study, teach, research and live.
